.......I was raised in a
family of five sisters and one brother in Tulsa,
Oklahoma. My parents
trusted Christ as their Lord and Savior when I was
five and they started to teach our family
about God and His Word. We began to read the Bible
together as a family. I grew up going
to Sunday school and church but none of it made me a
Christian. I was still a sinner. I never
did the so called "big" sins. However, in God's eyes
one sin is as bad as another. God's Word
says in Romans 3:23, " For all have sinned and come
short of the glory of God."
.........One
morning during school my mother started sharing with
us, as she had so many times before, God's plan of
salvation. However, this morning it struck me that I
needed Jesus because I was a sinner. I agreed with
God that I was a sinner and accepted Jesus as my
personal Lord and Savior on December 14, 1990. I was
10 years old.
.........As I
have grown in the Lord, He has called me to many
commitments and has greatly
changed my life. I said earlier that we stopped
watching TV and we began reading the Bible
together as a family. We also began to read
missionary biographies on Amy Carmicheal, Gladys
Alyward, David Livingston, Hudson Taylor, and many
others. God used my family reading those missionary
biographies to grow in my shy little heart a love
for missions. On September 19, 1993 I surrendered my
live to God's call to be a missionary or the wife of
a missionary. Having received counsel from my
authorities to start preparing for the mission
field, I began looking for opportunities. I
taught God's Word and shared the gospel with
children for the next five summers. It was during
those years that God began to burden my heart for
the people of Africa. God allowed me the opportunity
to serve Him overseas the summers of 1998 and 1999
in the country of Kenya, Africa. Between those trips
I enrolled in and graduated from Childrens
Ministries Institute. From August 2000 to April
2001, God allowed me to go back to Kenya, Africa,
and live with a national family and teach the
children there in Kenya for eight months.
In 2002 I graduated from Heartland Bible College
with an associate's degree in Church Education
(Bible/Missions). Since then I have been teaching
children and training adults and young people to
teach and reach the children with the Gospel in
Tulsa and other states. I cant tell you what a
blessing it has been to tell the children about
Jesus and lead them to a saving knowledge of our
Lord and Savior and to train others to do the same
thing! Although I grew up in Eastland Baptist Church
With Dave Hardy as Pastor, I now attend Southeast
Baptist Church with my family where I have enjoyed
ministering in the Little Lambs Sunday school class,
teaching in junior church, being involved in the
choir and special music, the visitation program and
the nursery.
.........I am
now going back full time to Kenya, Africa to serve
God in the small town of
Nyahururu and the surrounding bush area. Half of
Kenya's population of 29 million people is
under the age of 15. Because of AIDS and disease,
life expectancy is short. The children need
to be reached! As I work along side an Independent
Baptist missionary family, I will be training
nationals to teach the children and help start
Sunday Schools in the churches along with teaching
Bible classes in the schools.
Dear
Bro.....
......I am
currently on deputation raising my support to return
full time to Kenya to serve God along side Eric and
Lori Bohman and their four girls in the small town
of Nyahururu and the surrounding bush area. I would
love to come and share my testimony and a power
point presentation of the ministry God has given me
in Kenya in any of your services or at a missions
conference.
......Half of
Kenya's population of 29 million people is under the
age of 15 The young people need to be reached before
their hearts grow hard and cold to the gospel. I
will be working with the missionaries and nationals
in how to teach the children, starting Sunday
schools in the churches, and teaching Bible classes
in the school. Will you help me to reach the young
people of Kenya before it's too late?
......I want
to help and be a blessing to your church in any way
that God can use me. I would be willing to come and
be an encouragement to or help train your Sunday
school teachers in addition to presenting my field.
